Chairman - Mr Eric Tan

Mr Eric Tan graduated with a Bachelor of accountancy degree from the University of Singapore in 1974.

 

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He had more than 35 years working experience which included senior positions in finance, corporate planning, human resource as well as in operations management in a telecommunication & transportation group listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX).

 

Before his retirement in 2016, he was the CFO of a SGX listed subsidiary of a HK Group listed on the HK Stock Exchange.

Treasurer - Mr Heng Mok Hee, Sylvester

With a career spanning over five decades in the shipping industry and a rich history of almost 25 years with a variety of voluntary welfare organisations including the Lions, Special Olympics Singapore, the International Lutheran Seaman’s Mission and Catch Them Young, Capt.

 

Sylvester Heng brings with him a huge wealth of experience in both the worlds of business and charity. Also, he was the chairman of Lion Community Service Foundation from 2014-2016.

 

Sylvester is the founder of Regional Shipping Services, marine consultant, surveyor & shipping agent.

Secretary - Dr Quek Jin Jong

Dr Quek Jin Jong has been in the education service from 1963 for the last five decades. 

He taught in the primary, secondary & junior college levels for 18 years before he became a Vice-Principal of a junior college. In 1985 he moved on to teacher education. From 1991 until he retired in 2014, he served as a Dean & Principal Officer in the Director’s Office of the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University. Concurrent to his various appointments, he served in a number of education organisations which included a school advisory committee, Sport Singapore, Junior Achievement, FOCUS, Sands Development Leadership Centre, Scout Association. Dr Quek’s interest in education also extended internationally.

He was appointed as Vice Chancellor of the Emirates College for Advance Education, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and also served on the international panels of advisors for other educational institutions.

CEO - Kevyn Sim

A long-term social advocate and passionate educator with strong pedagogical background. 

 

Kevyn initiated the reimagination of classroom for special needs students and launched the joint Government-Industry digitisation effort for SPED schools through incorporation of digital tools and assistive technologies. Following that, Kevyn relocated to China for a few years to help local non-profit organization setup and manage private schools for children from rural areas. Back in Singapore, Kevyn coordinated the rollout of the e-KidsExcel programme with corporate sponsors, to support 110 children from disadvantaged backgrounds with online classes and e-learning resources, as part of a national concerted effort to adapt the KidsExcel programme.

Kevyn holds a Bachelor of Computer Science & Information Systems from the National University of Singapore.

Programmes Director - Lorinda Lee

A senior educator in MOE of over 20 years, Lorinda led the ICT department in Ai Tong School before being seconded to MOE HQ to provide consultancy to school leaders to incorporate ICT into classrooms. Her last appointment was School Staff Developer in St Gabriel's Primary School.

Lorinda believes in ensuring the equity of growth opportunities for all children, especially children from higher-needs backgrounds. Drawing on her extensive experience in MOE, Lorinda helms CTY's as its Programmes director, ensuring the efficacy and reach of CTY's social initiatives

Advisor - Chang Shih Koon

Shih Khoon is a CFA charter holder and a graduate of the NUS Executive MBA programme, with more than 20 years of operational experience across various industries. 

 

He started his career in Standard Chartered Bank before joining a Hong Kong conglomerate as a General Manager. Thereafter, he took on a Vice-President of Corporate Development role with an Indonesian media conglomerate prior to co-founding Viva Kids Pte Ltd.
