Climb for KidsExcel+
- Lobuche East and Island Peak Fundraising 2025/2026

This year, Stan Wong continues his fundraising journey through mountaineering, building on his 2024 expedition in China and taking it to greater heights at Lobuche East (6,119m) and Island Peak (6,189m). Both mountains are located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, offer a higher altitude, and require more technical skill than 2024’s Mount Siguniang expedition. For him, the climb is not just about reaching the summits, it is about using the challenge as a platform to raise awareness and rally support for a cause that matters deeply to him.

The Climber!

Stan shared that it is the knowledge that his climbs can spark generosity and impact lives motivates him. The mountains provide a personal challenge, but more importantly, they provide a way to connect people to a greater purpose.

He also emphasised that the journey is not one of extreme hardship but of steady progress and resilience. Each step, from preparation to the summit attempt, mirrors the persistence needed in the cause he is supporting. This perspective makes the climb relatable to everyone — you don’t need to scale a mountain to understand commitment, perseverance, or the power of giving.

By choosing to climb in Nepal this year, Stan hopes to inspire donors to see beyond the physical challenge and instead view the expedition as a symbol of what can be achieved when determination is paired with community support. His message is clear: together, small steps lead to extraordinary change.

Mountaineering is an extremely taxing sport but incredibly rewarding. If you love challenging yourself both physically and mentally, and do not mind swapping comfort for epic views and sore muscles, go for it! Just remember, the mountain isn't going anywhere. Respect the mountain, take it one step at a time, and embrace the old cliché: slow and steady wins the race in mountaineering!

“Every quest isn’t about getting to the end. It is about the whole journey. Live for the moment and be present. See the challenges as opportunities to grow and learn. Not just obstacles. When going gets tough, keep moving. Trust the process and stay connected to what you love.” - Stan Wong
